Virtual Kawabe 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #26 Koson-ji Temple

It is unknown when Gyuja-do Hall was built with the image of En Ozunu (634-701) enshrined.

The temple's precincts have a stone hokyointo, a type of pagoda which originally contained the Karandamudra Dharani Sutra, dated 1374.

Sometime between 1789 and 1800, Momen'ya Tokusaburo built a hut for a Buddhist priest to stay with an Eleven-Faced Ekadasamukha image enshrined.  The hut was moved later to where Bell of Flanders is located today, and was named Koson Hermitage.  In 1950, the hermitage became a Buddhist temple and was renamed Koson-ji.  In 1976, the temple was moved to its present place due to the city planning of Itami City.
