Virtual Kawabe 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #18 Daisho-ji Temple
According to Tachibana Shiko, Daisho-ji Temple was founded by Priest Ryou in today's Tsukaguchicho, Amagasaki, Hyogo 661-0002, in 1363. The temple burned down presumably in battle and was revived in the present place in 1599.
Tachibana Shiko, the History of Tachibana Village, was written and edited by Terasaka Itsuo, and published by Tachibana Village in November 1940.
This work was planned and written by Terasaka Itsuo, then deputy mayor of Tachibana Village, on the occasion of the 2600th anniversary of the founding of the Empire in 1940, to record the history of the rapidly urbanizing village. The contents include an introduction to the administrative history and history of merged villages, shrines and temples, rivers, water resources, famous places, and ancient documents. It is notable for its empirical writing, based on historical sources. Furthermore, the abundant citations of ancient documents and records, some of which are currently unknown or lost, make it a valuable historical resource.
The temple was founded in the middle of the Southern and Northern Courts Period (1336-1392), and it is unknown which side the surrounding area belonged to.
