Virtual North Settsu 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #30 Horin-ji Temple

 

     Horin-ji Temple was founded by Priest Shun'yo in May, 1562.

     Miyoshi Nagayoshi (1522-1564) was in his prime in 1561.  He actually ruled 10 provinces; Settsu, Yamashiro, Tanba, Izumi, Awa, Awaji, Sanuki, Harima, Kawachi, and Yamato Provinces.  In April 2nd, 1561, his younger brother, Sogo Kazumasa (?-1561), died, and the Miyoshi Regime's rule over Izumi Province became fragile, which made the route between Kyoto and Awa Province, the Miyoshi Clan's homeland, vulnerable.
