Virtual North Settsu 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #29 Eisho-ji Temple
Yoshida Bokusai built Eisho-an Hermitage to pray for the comfort of his mother in the other world.
Kayano Sanpei (1675-1702) had 2 elder sisters and a younger sister. One of the 2 elder sisters, Kokin, married into the Yoshida Family. Sanpei became famous due to the Ako Vendetta in 1703, and the Chinese character of Eisho-ji Temple's Ei was changed to its present one after her posthumous Buddhist name Chiei.
It is unknown when Asano Sahei invited the 3rd preist of Butsugen-ji Templ,e Chiyu (?-1790), to change the hermitage into Eisho-ji Temple.
