Virtual North Settsu 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #7 Kannon-ji Temple

 

     It is unknown when Kannon-ji Temple was founded in Obana Village, Kawabe County, Settsu province.  Although the temple is named Kannon-ji, its main deity is Amitabha and it has Kannon-do Hall, with its own deity, Eleven-Faced Ekadasamukha, in its precincts.  Ekadasamukha's history could be older than the temple.

     The village was first documented in 1737.
