Virtual Akata 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #31 Gassan Shrine

 

     You are back in Otsukiyama Akata, Yurihonjo, Akita 015-0023, where the #21 deity is also located, and where Goddess Tsukuyomi of Gassan Shrine in Yamagata Prefecture could have been enshrined.  Otsuki is the honorific expression of the Moon and Otsukiyama literally means Moon Mountain.  It is unrecorded whether or not Gassan Shrine in Otsukiyama was one of the 10 shrines that were merged to Shinmei-sha Shrine sometime between 1910 and 1918.
