Virtual Tama Aqueduct Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #7 Keigan-ji Temple

Keigan-ji Temple was founded by Priest Zendo (?-1645), supported by the Kawai Family in Iwado Village, Tama County, Musashi Province.  The family was a farmer but had their family name.  It means they were a local samurai in the village before Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543-1616) became the ruler of the Kanto Region in 1590.  Zendo might have been a member of the family.
