Virtual Musashi 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #5 Manfuku-ji Temple

 

     Manfuku-ji Temple was founded in 1614, when the Winter Campaign of the Siege of Osaka was fought between Toyotomi Hideyori (1593-1615) and Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543-1616).  It is unknown whether the temple was founded to mourn over those who were killed in the war or to meet the increasing population due to the development of Edo, Ieyasu's capital.
