Virtual Shonai 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #26 Chofuku-ji Temple

Chofuku-ji Temple is another temple that is said to have been founded in 807.

Yutagawa Onsen was originally called White Heron Hot Springs after the tradition which says a white heron healed its wounds in 712.  The spring quality is a sulfate spring, gushing hot water approximately 1,000 liters per minute.

Chofuku-ji Temple keeps the painting Three Thousand Buddhas, colored on silk.

There are 1,005 Buddhas depicted on each scroll.  As there are three scrolls, it is called Three Thousand Buddhas.  Each scroll is 185.0 centimeters long and 153.3 centimeters wide.

The hot spring gushes out.

Its water relieves people.

That is also the mercy of Buddha.
