Interested in Japanese Pirates?

     Makoto Ueda (1957-) published Sengoku Nihon-wo Mita Chuugoku-jin, literally A Chinese Who Saw Warring-States-Period Japan, this summer.  He depicts the Japanese pirates from the view point from smuggling across the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea, based on Riben Yijian by Zheng Shungong, who visited Japan from 1556 to 1558.  If you are interested in Japanese pirates, this book is worth reading.
