Virtrual Shinobu Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #32 Korin-ji Temple
The Korinji Ruins are ruins from the Paleolithic, Jomon, Yayoi, and Kofun periods. Artifacts and remains from the historical period have also been discovered. Korin-ji Temple is adjacent to the location of the ruins. Major excavated items include scrapers from the Paleolithic period, ruins of dwellings from the Jomon period; clay pots, fire pits, earthenware, stone arrowheads, chipped stone axes, polished stone axes, stone spoons, stone cores, pebbles, stone plates, polished stones, and concave stones; small pieces of pottery and polished stone arrowheads from the Yayoi period; scrapers, stone drills, gravel implements, whetstones, stone rods, Haji ware and earthen weights from the Kofun period; medieval graves, itabi, human bones, earthenware, ceramics, old coins, and wells from the historical period.
The ruins are located in the central part of the plateau of the Kanto Loam Formation, which extends from the northwest to the southeast, parallel to the east of the Nakaochibori River.
