Virtrual Shinobu Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #29 Daiko-ji Temple
Tsutsukowake Shrine was the highest-ranking shrine in Mutsu Province. According to legend, it was founded in 807. Chikatsu Shrine was at the foot of Tsutsukowake Shrine.
People in Nakazuma invited the god of Chikatsu Shrine, or people immigrated from Kuji County, Hitachi Province, with the god of Chikatsu Shrine, and founded another Chikatsu Shrine sometime between 901 and 923. In Ancient times, a century is quite a short timespan, isn’t it? In 958, Daiko-ji Temple was founded as its shrine temple. Were the Kuji people impatient?
