Virtual Quasi-Chichibu 34 Kannon Pilgrimage #24 Daisho-in Temple

Daisho-in Temple was founded by Priest Juun (?-1320) in 1264.  He retired in 1284.  It was revived by Priest Chugon (?-1440) in 1429.
According to oral tradition, the precincts was started by Ennin (794-864) before he went to Enryaku-ji Temple, Mt. Hiei, in 808.  Presumably, he visited Minowa Village on his way to Mt. Hiei.  He was said to have carved an Acalanatha statue for the holy place.  The statue has been the main deity of the temple since then.
The temple has the Ekadasamukha statue, who has 11 faces.
A farmer in Kawashima Village, Tuduki County, Musashi Province, was requisitioned as a carrier for the Siege of Osaka in 1615.  He returned with the statue from the camp, and presented it to the temple.  Legally?  Illegally?  I have no idea, but there was a good chance that he brought it from Osaka Castle, which had been destroyed by the Tokugawa Clan.  What happened to the former owner of the statue?
