Virtual Quasi-Chichibu 34 Kannon Pilgrimage #33 Ryufuku-ji Temple

Ryufuku-ji Temple was founded by Monk Jisso in 1587.
In 1584, Toyotomi Hideyoshi (1536-1598) and Tokugawa Ieyasu (1542-1616) was fighting in the Battle of Komaki and Nagatsune.  On October 27, 1586, Ieyasu yielded to Hideyoshi.  In 1587, Akizuki Tanezane (1548-1596) and Shimazu Yoshihisa (1533-1611) surrendered to Hideyoshi one after another in Kyushu.
When Hideyoshi was unifying the whole country, Jisso became monk and built Ryufuku-ji Temple as if he had turned his back on the world.
It burned down in 1763, and was rebuilt in 1764.
