Virtual Upper Tada Manor 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #5 Shoji-an Temple

It is unknown when Shoji-an Temple was founded in Hazukawa Village, Kawabe County, Settsu Province.  The village was first documented in 1333, when Kumon Kagemitsu ruled the village.  He claimed he belonged to the Minamoto Clan.  In 1368, the village had 43 households.

It is also unknown when the temple was abolished.

Geographically inferring, it could have been a shrine temple of Yakushi-do Hall.  If so, the temple might have been abolished after the Meiji Restoration Government issued the Gods and Buddhas Separation Order in 1868.
