Virtual Akata 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #18 Tatsuno-ken House

 

     Tatsuno-ken House used to be where Toko Hall and Akata Social Gathering Supermarket are located.  It is unknown why #18 is nearer to #16 than #17.

     On March 27th, 2016, the Akata Social Gathering Supermarket opened in the parking lot of Toko-kan Hall, the community center for the Akata area in Yurihonjo City.  Before the supermarket was built, the nearest store was 6 kilometers away from the area, and it took about 15 minutes to get there by car.  Thinking about the future after five years from then, it was predicted that the number of elderly people who cannot drive cars would increase in the area.  With this vision in mind, the Akata Area Management Council, which is made up of residents of the Akata area, took the initiative and used the Mutual Support Supermarket Creation Project, which is promoted by Akita Prefecture as a shopping support measure for locals, to expand the Akadt Fureai Direct Sales Stand, which had been established in 2012, and to add store functions.  In addition to daily necessities and food, the supermarket also sells locally grown vegetables, wild plants, and handmade accessories.

     According to the ordinance of Yurihonjo City, Goho-en Park was established "in order to preserve and teach the history and culture of the mountain village, provide a place for education and healthy recreation through contact with various resources such as the history and culture of the mountain village and the cultivation of crops in community gardens, and, at the same time, foster a sense of solidarity among mountain village residents and a more leisurely lifestyle."
