Virtual Honjo Domain 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #1 Hoen-ji Temple

Hoen-ji Temple is said to have been founded sometime between 1661 and 1673, or in 1689.  It enshrines the sitting statue of Cintamanicakra, who usually has 6 arms and holds chintamani (a wish-fulfilling jewel) in one of the six.  The statue is supposed to have been made in the 16th century.  The temple was moved to its present place in 1790, less than a decade after the organization of Honjo Domain 33 Kannon Pilgrimage.  Did its relocation have something to do with the birth of the pilgrimage?
