Virtual Kesen 33 Kannon Pigrimage #12 Hiraguri Fukuju-an Temple

 

     It is unknown when defeated samurai refugees arrived in the mountains of Yokota Village, Kesen County, Mutsu Province.  Their descendants say that the ancestors came from Yamato Province with an image of Arya Avalokitesvara, who is the human-figure prototype of the other 6 metamorphoses, and that they enshrined the image as soon as they settled down.

     The image and its hall is taken care of by the Kanno Family.  The present hall was rebuilt by Kanno Hayao.  In Maide alone, there are over 40 Kanno's.
