Virtual Kodama Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #14 Chitoku-ji Temple
It is unknown when Inari Shrine was invited to Komaginu Village, Kodama County, Musashi Province. Chitoku-ji Temple was founded as its shrine temple.
At the beginning of 1570's, Yoshibashi Daizennnosuke rebuilt Komaginu-Inari Shrine's building.
Daizennnosuke (?-1618) fought for Hojo Ujikuni in the Battle of Kannagawa, which was fought between the Later Hojo Clan and the Oda Clan.
Taking advantage of the sudden death of Oda Nobunaga (1534-1582), the Later Hojo Clan soon launched an attack on the Oda Clan's territory. The Kanna River ran along the border between the Kozuke and Musashi provinces. Takikgawa Kazumasu (1525-1586), who was a vassal of Nobunaga, faced off against the Later Hojo forces at Kannagawa. Kazumasu had 18,000 troops, while the Hojo wielded 55,000. Kazumasu was defeated and retreated to Nagashima, Ise Province, where he ruled. Magojiro joined the Hojo forces with his 130-strong cavalry, and Daizennosuke was one of them with his bow and horse. It means he was a minor samurai. Yoshibashi Daizen had been mentioned in earlier documents dated 1569 and 1571, but it isn't clear whether Daizennojo and Daizen were the same person or, say, Daizen had been Daizennojo's father.
Chitoku-ji Temple enshrines Thousand-Armed Sahasrabhuja.
