Virtual Iruhi Bando 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #4 Butsu-do Temple

 

     A Buddhist hermitage was built in Banba to enshrine a Buddhist image of Arya Avalokitesvara, who is the human-figure prototype of the other 6 metamorphoses.  Its history and its temple name are totally unknown.  It wasn't recorded when it was abolished.  It left only its sango, Kobo.  As #21 is just over a hill in the next village, Okoze, with the same sango, the 2 temples might have had a certain relation.  Or they might have something to do with Mt. Kobo.
