Virtual Hiki Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage #15 Kannon-ji Temple

 

     It is unknown when Kannon-ji Temple was founded.  When Mamiya Kotonobu (1777-1841) researched to compile the New Topography and Chronology of Musashi Province at the beginning of the 19th century, Kannon-ji Temple still existed with its Kannon-do Hall in its precincts.  Its main hall enshrined Amitabha.  It isn't recorded when the temple was abolished, with the Kannon-do Hall and graveyard left behind.
