Virtual Tama Aqueduct Chichibu 34 Kannon Pilgrimage #28 Anraku-ji Temple
The Koshu Highway was opened between Edo and Kai Province in 1602 by the Tokugawa Shogunate. The Kami-Kitazawa area along the highway was developed gradually in Ebara County, Musashi Province, the Kitazawa Irrigational Canal was constructed, dividing water from the Tama Aqueduct, and Anraku-ji Temple was founded there. After the collapse of the shogunate, the temple was abolished with its graveyard left.
